SUMMER ADULT EDUCATION CLASSES

Beginner’s Modern Hebrew taught by Dr. Petr Chylek
Beginning Wednesday, June 12 at 6:00pm
This class meets for 5 weeks in the Helman Library and concludes on Wednesday July 17.

JULY and AUGUST, 2019

Welcome to the World of Jewish Mysticism

An introductory class on the World of Kabbalah by Dr. Petr Chylek
Beginning Wednesday, July 24th at 6:00pm, for 4 weeks, at Congregation Beit Tikva
Delve into the world of mystical ideas, as well as the practice of Jewish meditation. Pious mystic seekers of old pleaded,“O God, You are my God, earnestly will I seek You, my soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, as in a dry and parched land without water.” (Psalm 63:2) The teachings of the Kabbalah began in the 13th century and extended through the 18th century. Dr. Chylek’s lectures, sponsored by Congregation Beit Tikva, offer us a serious glimpse into the esoteric world of Jewish mystical teachings. The community is welcome to join us for one or all of the classes.
